How to Install Freeware Theme from Dashboard?
A WordPress Theme is a collection of files that work together to produce a graphical interface with an underlying unifying design for a weblog. These files are called template files. A Theme modifies the way the site is displayed, without modifying the underlying software. Themes may include customized template files, image files (*.jpg, *.gif), style sheets (*.css), custom Pages, as well as any necessary code files (*.php).
You can download Themes directly to your blog by using the Add New Themes option in the Appearance sub-menu.- Log in to the WordPress Administration Panels.
- Select the Appearance panel, then Themes.
- Select Add New.
- Either use the Search or Filter options to locate a Freeware Theme you would like to use.
- Click on Install Now link to upload the Freeware Theme
- Or use the Upload link in the top links row to upload a zipped copy of a Theme that you have previously downloaded to your machine.
- Activate it
How to add Freeware Themes Manually (FTP)?
To add a Freeware Theme to your WordPress installation, follow these basic steps:
- Download the Freeware Theme archive and extract the files it contains. You may need to preserve the directory structure in the archive when extracting these files.
- Using an FTP client to access your host web server, create a directory to save your Theme in the wp-content/themes directory provided by WordPress. For example, a Theme named Freeware should be in wp-content/themes/freeware. Your Freeware Theme may provide this directory as part of the archive.
- Upload the Theme files to the new directory on your host server.
- Follow the instructions below for selecting the Freeware Theme.
How to Select the Active Theme?
To select a Theme for your site:
- Log in to the WordPress Administration Panels.
- Select the Appearance panel, then Themes.
- From the Themes panel, roll over the Freeware Theme thumbnail image for the Theme you are interested in to see options for that theme.
- You can view more information about any theme by clicking Theme Details.
- A live preview of any Theme (using your blog’s content) can be seen by clicking Live Preview.
- To activate the Theme click the Activate button.
Your selection will immediately become active.

How to install Dummy Content ?
- Please install One Click Demo Import plugins. You can install it after activating freeware theme. It is listed in recommended Plugins
- After plugin is activated, it asks you to upload XML, WIE and DAT dummy file. Download it from Here
- Unzip freeware-dummy-content.zip file. You can find all XML, WIE and DAT dummy file
- Navigate to Appearance > Import Demo Data
- Upload manually and Click on Import demo data.
Now all your files and settings has been imported. Now you just need to setup your menu and front page.
Setup Menu and Social Links:
- In the Blog Dashboard, select Appearance > Menus.
- Under the Menu Settings, located at the bottom of your screen, select Primary menu / Social Links
- Click save menu
Sample of Demo Import Plugin is same for all themes. Although it does not belongs to this site but the process is same.

How to setup Primary menu?
By default, you will see all pages as menus. If you want to customize menus using links, pages, categories, then the custom menu is what you should be looking for.
- In the Blog Dashboard, select Appearance > Menus.
- Select “create a new menu” at the top of the page.
- Enter a name for your new menu in the Menu Name box.
- Click the Create Menu button.
- Now, choose the pages, categories, custom links from the left side of your screen by selecting the checkbox and click on add menu
- Under the Menu Settings, located at the bottom of your screen, select Primary and click on add menu
- Click save menu after adding the required pages, categories & custom links in the menu

How to setup Social Links ?
- In the Dashboard, select Appearance > Menus.
- Select “create a new menu” at the top of the page.
- Enter a name for your new menu in the Menu Name box.
- Click the Create Menu button.
- Now, choose the Custom Url from left side with social icon url and name. Click on add menu
- Click save menu after creating social icons
Note: If you are adding Social links on sidebar or in footer sidebar then your Social links Menu Name should be Social Links

How to setup Site Identity ?
The Site Identity is provided by WordPress. You can upload Logo, Site Title, Site Description and Site Icon from Site Identity section.
- In the Dashboard, select Appearance > Customize > Site Identity
- Upload your logo
- Add Site Title and Site Description

How to setup Header Image?
Header Image is a default WordPress features. Here is the process to display header image.
- Log into your WordPress administrator dashboard and navigate to Appearance > Header.
- Click “Choose File” and upload an image from your computer or from media library
- Click Published and the settings will take effect immediately.
How to display Header Image custom Height?
- Log into your WordPress administrator dashboard and navigate to Appearance > Header.
- Change Header Image height in vh (Screen Percent)
- Click Published and the settings will take effect immediately.

How to setup Main Banner?
Main Banner is a Slider.Follow the below steps to setup Main Banner.
- Log in to your WordPress Administration Panel (Dashboard).
- Go to Posts > Categories. To add a category and create it.
- Then Click the ‘Posts’ tab to create a new post
- Click the ‘Add New’ sub-tab.
- Start filling in the blanks: enter your post title in the upper field, and enter your post body content in the main post editing box below it. On the right bottom of posts add featured image
- Repeat above process multiple times to display in banner.
- As needed, select a category just you created
Now to display Main banner in front end, Go to dashboard and navigate to Appearance > Customizing > Theme Options > Main Banner and select the category just created before.

How to setup Category Highlight?

- Log in to your WordPress Administration Panel (Dashboard).
- Go to Posts > Categories. To add a category and create it.
- Then Click the ‘Posts’ tab to create a new post
- Click the ‘Add New’ sub-tab.

- Repeat above process multiple times to display in Category Highlight.

What is Front/ Home page posts categories?
Selected category under Front/ Home page posts categories will only be displayed. Otherwise all posts will be displayed in your home page/blog page. This is used especially to display certain category in your home/blog page.
- Log in to your WordPress Administration Panel (Dashboard).
- Go to dashboard and navigate to Appearance > Customizing > Theme Options > All theme Options > Front/ Home page posts categories
